Cagayan de Oro City. — The 3-day USTP Grand Launching started out with a festive atmosphere as the Gintong Amihan Dance Troupe preluded a cultural street dance presentation.
Students, teachers, and staff flocked at the foot of the gymnasium lobby, notwithstanding the scorching sun, as they waited for the opening ceremonies.
At 10 AM, the emcee cued the spectators to pause for the invocation and join in the singing of the national anthem. This was followed with a welcome message, given by Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras, USTP System President. He acknowledged the efforts and dedication of the people who came before him especially to Dr. Montano F. Salvador, former MPSC president, who has served the institution for 8 years. Dr. Rotoras further said that the dreams of the former leaders were made into a reality leading to the celebration of a new milestone: the establishment of USTP.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the USTP system president and assisted by his wife, Engr. Zarah Lynn A. Rotoras, kicked off the three main events of the day: the launching of the new website, blessing of the memorabilia, and the opening of the photo exhibit.
Ecumenical prayers then took place as a blessing ritual for the memorabilia.
Thereafter, everybody rushed in to see and learn about USTP’s history as the opening of the photo exhibit concluded the opening ceremonies.
