Mr. Randy M. Siaboc, MDRRM Officer, emphasized the Four (4) Disaster Risk Reduction Management Thematic Areas. Once observed and practiced, these thematic areas will lead to much safer, more adaptive, and disaster-resilient Filipino communities towards sustainable development.
Wearing a helmet while riding a motorcycle within the municipality was discussed by Mr. Windel Gicale, Municipal Traffic Enforcer, especially to students living outside Panaon. Students were also refreshed on what to do and how to respond during calamities.
The Bureau of Fire Protection, led by SFO3 Rolando S. Datoy, discussed the different types of fire extinguishers. In addition, FO1 Rahoney R. Labor and FO1 Alfred C. Quicoy assisted the students during the simulation of extinguishing a fire.
The workshop formed part of the commitment of USTP Panaon to instill knowledge and understanding of disaster prevention and mitigation, disaster preparedness, disaster response, and disaster rehabilitation and recovery.
