CCIR-USTP Panaon organize Mock Job Interview

Students’ lives get turned around when they leave school and enter the workforce. The Career Center and Industry Relations (CCIR) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Panaon organized a Career Preparation Mock Job Interview to give its graduating students the skills and confidence they need for this critical career phase. The event, which was held on July 26, 2023, at the USTP Panaon Function Hall and Training Center, aimed to support graduating students from the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLE) and the Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology (BSMB) programs as they prepare to start their professional careers.
The CCIR takes a proactive approach to prepare the graduating students for the competitive job market after realizing the importance of developing self-assurance and offering helpful insights for job interviews. One Hundred Seventy-Six (176) excited participants were welcomed to the event. All of them were eager to hone their interviewing techniques and obtain insightful knowledge from the professionals. The CCIR Coordinator, Ms. Judielyn L. Cualbar, gave the opening remarks to kick off the event, setting the mood for the day’s events with passion and energy. The Head of Academic Affairs, Ms. Annielyn Lasagas, then spoke, highlighting the event’s significance, followed by the mock job interview proper.
A distinguished panel of respected persons from various fields conducted the simulated job interviews. Dr. Leny Q. Añasco, the Acting Campus Director, led the panel, accompanied by the Head of Academic Affairs. Other esteemed panelists included Ms. Reysan Toylo, Ms. Jenefer Cobrado, Ms. Joymae Eltagon, Mr. Jessie Malmis, and Mr. Marjune Bonilla. Their collective experience and expertise ensured that the students would receive a comprehensive and insightful performance evaluation.
