The College of Engineering and Technology (CET) of USTP Claveria through its i-HELP Extension Program trained the Sangguniang Kabataan officials from the twenty-four (24) barangays of the Municipality of Claveria on parliamentary procedures in conducting meetings last March 26, 2021.
The activity entitled “Seminar and Training on Parliamentary Procedures for Youth Empowerment” was conducted in coordination with the Extension and Community Relations Office of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Claveria, the Local Government Unit of Claveria, and the Department of the Interior and Local Government’s Municipal Local Government Operations Office.

Sangguniang Kabataan officials of Claveria joined the training on parliamentary procedures.
CET faculty who was trained in parliamentary procedures shared their expertise and discussed the basics including the motions and the common errors in conducting meetings.
The said training is anchored on the People’s Empowerment component of the 4-point Extension Agenda of CET (representing ‘P’ in i-HELP) that aims to provide relevant training to empower and capacitate the trainees/beneficiaries to become agents of change for societal transformation.
“This is just one of the extension activities we have set in our college to extend our services and technical expertise to the community. Just recently, we have also conducted the Health and Nutrition component of our i-HELP Extension Program,” said CET Dean Dr. Maribel S. Tizo.
Dr. Tizo added that the CET is set to conduct other extension activities in the coming months, including activities under the Livelihood Generation and Environmental Education extension agenda.
