District Rotary Representative orients Rotaract Club of USTP Jasaan

On May 27, 2023, the newly elected members of the Rotaract Club of USTP Jasaan gathered for a highly anticipated orientation at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Jasaan. The session took place at the Integrated Technology Building 2 of the said campus and was led by distinguished guest speaker District Rotary Representative (DRR) Leo Stephen Ferrera of Rotaract Clubs of Rotary International District 3870.
The orientation aimed to introduce the new members to the Rotary International and its fundamental principles, with a particular focus on the renowned “4-Way Test.” This test encompasses a set of ethical guidelines that Rotarians and Rotaractors are encouraged to apply in their personal and professional lives.
DRR Leo Stephen Ferrera eloquently explained the importance of these principles in creating positive change and fostering integrity and cooperation.
“Ang Rotaract walay panghatag nga honorarium. It’s all about service above self,” DRR Ferrera shared how Rotaract does not provide honorarium and emphasized service above self instead.
DRR Ferrera delivered an enlightening speech, highlighting the importance of Rotary International’s mission and the potential impact that the Rotaract Club of USTP Jasaan can have on their local community.
In addition to the orientation, the event featured the induction ceremony for the newly elected officers of the Rotaract Club of USTP Jasaan. This momentous occasion was graced by several esteemed Rotarians from Rotary Club of Central Jasaan. Their presence served to underscore the strong partnership between Rotary and Rotaract, highlighting the ongoing support and guidance provided by the sponsoring Rotary Club of Central Jasaan.
Mr. Greg C. Pegarro, President-elect of the Rotary Club of Central Jasaan, closed the orientation and induction of officers, urging the new members to embrace their roles and make a positive difference to the community.
“Walay dili natu mabuhat kung kita tanan magtinabanga ug magkahiusa.” Mr. Pegarro expressed how there is no limit to what can be achieved with cooperation and unity.
The orientation and induction ceremony proved to be a success, with the new members gaining valuable insights into the purpose and principles of Rotary International. Equipped with this knowledge, the Rotaract Club of USTP Jasaan is poised to embark on a journey of service, leadership, and friendship, making a lasting impact on their local community and beyond.
