DTLE leads National Women’s Month celebration in USTP Panaon

In celebration of the National Women’s Month, the Department of Technology and Livelihood Education (DTLE) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon) conducted a series of seminars last March 18 & 23, 2022, to equip student-teachers with a deep understanding of the importance of RA 7877 and RA 11313.
Sixty-one (61) student-teachers from the Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education joined the webinar titled “Understanding RA 7877,” which discussed the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995. Meanwhile, twenty-eight (28) student-teachers from the same department participated in the face-to-face seminar titled “The Safe Spaces Act: Addressing Gender-Based Violence Online” conducted by Ms. Maribel V. Gonzales and Mr. Noel B. Constantino from the Provincial Gender and Development Office of Misamis Occidental.
The series of seminars aims to open the eyes of the participants and equip them with the knowledge to safeguard them from all forms of sexual harassment in the education, employment, or training environment.
The Future Educators’ Guild spearheaded the webinar with the favorable and active assistance of Dr. Leny Q. Anasco, USTP Panaon Campus Director, Mr. Christopher R. Balaba, Head of Academic Affairs, and Ms. Mary Jane A. Moralia, DTLE Chairperson.
