DTLE-USTP Panaon holds successful 3rd Pinning Ceremony

On February 15, 2024, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Panaon recently hosted its 3rd Pinning Ceremony for pre-service teachers at La Elena Pension House, themed “Pathways of Knowledge: Navigating Success Together.” The ceremony was brimming with significance and symbolism and a pivotal moment for aspiring educators as they embark on their professional journey.
Christopher R. Balaba, Practice Teaching Instructor, delivered the opening remarks with reverence and reflection, highlighting the event’s significance and honoring future educators’ dedication and commitment.
During the ceremony, Pastor Jessie M. Delatina delivered an empowering message and led the blessing of the pins, instilling a sense of purpose and service among the students.
Dr. Leny Q. Añasco, Acting Campus Director, urged pre-service teachers to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with determination and resilience. Her words resonated with the aspiring educators, and inspired them to embrace the purpose and responsibility of the noble teaching profession. The significance of the pins became evident, as it symbolized the pre-service teachers’ readiness to embark on their journey.
The event’s highlight was the Pinning Ceremony, where Ela B. Hayagan, a BTLED Industrial Arts representative, led the acceptance of the pins—followed by the Pre-service Teacher’s Pledge, led by Practice Teaching President Rowell E. Tabil.
As a heartfelt tribute to their parents, the attendees paid homage through a Tribute to Parents segment, accompanied by a soul-stirring tribute song titled “I’ll Be There.”
In her closing remarks, Angel Martina G. Jala, BTLED Home Economics Representative, expressed gratitude and optimism, encouraging the pre-service teachers to embrace the challenges and opportunities ahead with confidence and resilience.
The ceremony concluded with a recessional march, symbolizing the end of one chapter and the beginning of another in the pre-service teachers’ journey toward professional fulfillment and academic excellence.
