USTP Claveria. As part of efforts to uphold gender equality in all fields of social activity, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Claveria, Misamis Oriental conducted a five-day webinar on Gender and Development (GAD) and Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) on November 22-26, 2021.
Dr. Apolinario B. Gonzaga Jr., GAD Focal person of USTP Claveria, led the five-day GAD webinar attended by 30 participants composed of the faculty and personnel of the College of Agriculture, College of Engineering and Technology, College of Arts and Sciences, and other offices of the University.
The activity highlighted the components of Gender and Development in the context of inclusivity. Dr. Gonzaga pointed out that services, practitioners, schools, and government should be welcoming to all, regardless of their gender identity or expression.
“It gives us the reality that development is for all and topics on GAD is not only for women but for men as well,” Dr. Gonzaga added.
