FruGie clinches recognition at Grand CET-SIP Demo Day 2023

Team FruGie from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Panaon, Misamis Occidental, was awarded as the Most Innovative Start-up during the Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET) Incubation Program Demo Day held at the Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras (DRER) Memorial Hall at USTP Cagayan de Oro last October 11, 2023, in line with the USTP System’s Research and Innovation Summit 2023.
During the Incubation Program Demo Day, five promising incubatees pitched their ground-breaking innovations. FruGie from USTP Panaon, after successfully finishing the 10-week Student Incubation Program (SIP) of the Center of Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET), is the sole entry from the satellite campuses across the USTP System. In addition, FruGie is the only food-related innovation start-up ever pitched during the demo day.
With the help of the Northern Mindanao Food Innovation Center (NMFIC), CET gave the team a quick tour of their new NMFIC Building to provide the team with a heads-up for the production phase of their start-up ideas.
FruGie comprises Hannah Grace E. Caseres, Allyn Grace C. Lidasan, Chloie F. Bienes, and Jane S. Liwagon from the USTP Panaon Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLEd) program. Mr. Christopher R. Balaba, BTLED faculty, guided the team throughout the endeavor.
