IKNB Claveria Chapter triumphs in Paglaum Benchmarking Cheering Competition

In a dazzling display of unity, creativity and school spirit, the Iskolar Ko Ng Bayan (IKNB) Paglaum 17th General Assembly concluded its annual event with the Claveria Chapter emerging triumphant in the highly competitive Bench Cheering Competition. Hosted on February 14, 2024, at the Provincial Capitol Grounds, Cagayan de Oro City, the event drew enthusiastic supporters who witnessed spirited performances from 10 municipalities and cities.
Ultimately, the IKNB Claveria Chapter, composed of students from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Claveria, clinched the championship title, marking a consecutive win, having won champion in the previous year’s Dance Drama category.
The Bench Cheering Competition was a visual feast of synchronized movements, creative choreography, and dynamic energy.
Chapter Coordinator Ms. Mary Fern V. Mercado and Assistant Chapter Coordinator Mr. Kyle Oliver W. Villano, played instrumental roles in guiding and inspiring the team to success. Their leadership, combined with hard work and commitment of the chapter members, propelled them to victory.
Having emerged champion, IKNB Claveria Chapter received a cash prize of Php 26,000.00 and a prestigious trophy.
The jubilant moment was captured in photo alongside Governor Peter Unabia and other Board members, symbolizing the recognition of their outstanding achievement.
Speaking on behalf of the chapter, Ms. Mary Fern V. Mercado, expressed gratitude for the support given by the university, community, and event organizers. In her speech, she stressed the importance of teamwork, dedication, and perseverance in achieving their goals.
The IKNB Chapter’s triumph in the Bench Cheering Competition brought honor to the university, inspiring future generations of students to strive for excellence in academics and extracurricular activities.
