System PMEs conduct site inspections at USTP Alubijid, Villanueva & Claveria

On August 22 and 24, 2023, the System Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation (SPME) conducted site inspections at the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) campuses at Alubijid, Villanueva, and Claveria in Misamis Oriental. Accompanied by representatives from the Infrastructure Planning and Facilities Development Office (IPFDO), the site visits were conducted to monitor and evaluate the current progress of the campus’ infrastructure projects.

The team first visited the construction of the five-story 21st Century Classroom building at the USTP Alubijid, currently in its first phase. The project will bring modern and state-of-the-art classrooms for the trailblazing students of the USTP Alubijid. Such classrooms will give students a conducive learning environment, allowing them to reach their full academic potential. As of August 11, the project reached an Actual Accomplishment of 37.19%. Project managers aim to complete the phase by October 17, 2023.

The PMEs continued their inspection on August 24, 2023, and visited the various project sites at the USTP Villanueva and the USTP Claveria. At the USTP Villanueva campus, the PMEs inspected their upcoming five-story 21st Century Classroom building in its first phase. As of writing, the project reached an Actual Accomplishment of 89%.

The PMEs also visited three project sites at the USTP Claveria—first, the Research and Innovation Center, with an Actual Accomplishment of 73.68%. The research center will be a site for science and innovation for the researchers of the USTP Claveria. Aspiring innovators and entrepreneurs can use the center as an avenue for research and reach their full potential as trailblazers.

The PMEs also inspected the upcoming four-story International Dormitory building. The dormitory will host the many visitors of the USTP Claveria, boasting quality facilities that reflect the standards the University upholds. The project currently has an Actual Accomplishment of 12%.

Finally, the PMEs paid a short visit to the most awaited conversion of the USTP Claveria’s old auditorium into the Multipurpose/Training Center. In its 3rd phase, the project has garnered an Actual Accomplishment of 70.11%. The Multipurpose/Training Center will provide an area for trailblazers to conduct extracurricular activities.

The many projects visited by the PMEs are a testament to the University’s promise to become the link between the industry and the academe. By investing in these projects, the USTP assures its researchers, students, and clients will have all the needed facilities for instruction, research, and innovation. As the University looks forward to completing the projects, the community sees the USTP’s future as a leading science and technology university close ahead.
