As part of its commitment to fostering civic consciousness and social responsibility among students, the National Service Training Program – Civic Welfare Training Service (NSTP-CWTS) Unit of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental (USTP Alubijid), in collaboration with the Commission on Human Rights Region X (CHR-X), successfully conducted a Lecture Series on the CHR Mandate and Basic Human Rights on February 19, 2025. This initiative aimed to enhance students’ awareness of human rights principles and their role in upholding and advocating for them within their communities.

The event was designed to:

  • Educate NSTP-CWTS students on the fundamental principles of human rights.
  • Explain the role and mandate of the Commission on Human Rights.
  • Emphasize students’ responsibilities in upholding and advocating for human rights.
  • Encourage active participation in human rights advocacy.

The event successfully equipped NSTP students with knowledge of human rights and inspired them to be advocates for justice and equality. As the first CHR-E Center and official partner of CHR-X in Misamis Oriental, USTP Alubijid remains steadfast in promoting human dignity, respect, and social justice among its students and the broader community.

The NSTP-CWTS Unit of USTP Alubijid extends its sincere gratitude to CHR Region X for their expertise and to all participating students for their enthusiasm and commitment to human rights advocacy.

Together, let us continue to uphold and defend the rights of every individual.
