To strengthen law enforcement capabilities in digital forensics, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental (USTP Alubijid), in collaboration with the Central Mindanao University – College of Information Sciences and Computing (CMU – CISC), conducted a Data Science Training: Leveraging Artificial Intelligence in Digital Forensics on March 11–12, 2025. The event was held at the RHQ Multi-purpose Hall, Camp 1Lt Vicente G. Alagar, Lapasan, Cagayan De Oro City, and attended by IT personnel from PNP – Region X (PNP-X).

The training aimed to introduce participants to emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Science technologies, emphasizing their role in digital forensics and cybersecurity. Topics discussed included Deep Learning, Data Preprocessing, Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs), and Blockchain Technology. Experts from USTP Alubijid and CMU – CISC led the discussions, providing valuable insights into how AI-powered tools can enhance digital investigations and evidence analysis.

This initiative reflects USTP Alubijid’s commitment to bridging the gap between technology and law enforcement, ensuring that local agencies are equipped with the knowledge needed to adapt to the evolving landscape of digital crime.
