USTP Alubijid forges MOA with CMU, PNP-10 to boost digital transformation & integration

Camp Alagar, Cagayan de Oro – The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Alubijid inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Philippine National Police Region 10 (PNP-10) and the Central Mindanao University (CMU) on March 12, 2024, to formalize strategic partnership on boosting digital transformation and integration. This partnership aims to provide technical support to PNP-10 in the use of technology to enhance efficiency in its decision-making process and operations.
The USTP Alubijid was represented by its Acting Campus Director, Dr. Lory Liza D. Bulay-og, with Dr. May Marie-Talandron Felipe (Research and International Affairs Coordinator & Head of the Computer Science Department), Engr. Wilfred Clark Sevilla (Head of the Cybersecurity Department & Extension Coordinator), and Engr. Jasper Jay Jementiza (Head of Academic Affairs and Head of the Computer Engineering Department).
Also present were Engr. Paikah King (Head of the Biomedical Engineering Department), Engr. David Uriel Jayson Bas (Civil Engineering Faculty), Ms. Kimberly Maratas (OSA and General Education Coordinator), Ms. Sarah Kaye Visande (Guidance Counselor & General Education Faculty), Mr. Jonathan Ian Catalan (Computer Science Faculty), and Mr. Kim Cordero (General Education Faculty).
The MOA signing was also attended by the CMU President, Dr. Rolito G. Eballe, together with the faculty experts, Mr. Kent Levi A. Bonifacio, Ms. Jinky G. Marcelo, Ms. Nathalie Joy G. Casido, and Ms. Helen Panganiban.
Regional Director of Police Regional Office 10, Police Brigadier General Ricardo G. Layug Jr., represented the PNP-10 along with Chief of the Regional Community Affairs and Development Division, PCOL Reynante R. Reyes, and Acting Chief Deputy Regional Director for Administration, PCOL Danilo A. Bacas.
The partnership is part of the university’s initiative under the Bridging Research and Innovations for the Community’s Development through Goal-oriented Extension Projects (BRIDGE). The initiative is geared towards designing and implementing data science training to enhance decision-making skills for Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises (MSMEs), government agency heads, and uniformed personnel.
