USTP Alubijid holds Talaandig Tribe Technology Upskilling

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Alubijid, Misamis Oriental (USTP Alubijid) extended its community collaboration to the Talaandig Tribe through its Technology Upskilling in Tagbak, Talakag, Bukidnon on June 8, 2024.

Project leader Engr. Jasper Jay A. Jementiza, Head of the Department of Computer Engineering, initiated the one-day face-to-face capability-building training with 29 Talaandig Tribe attendees.

The training consisted of various lectures and computer skills training: Computer Literacy, Introduction to Windows Operating System, Word and PowerPoint Presentation Skills, and Internet Email Skills. Other workshops included managing files and creating Word documents, spearheaded by Mr. Rhogiel V. Andoy, Mr. Jonathan Ian E. Catalan, and Engr. Angel A. Tan. 

Through these workshops and training, USTP Alubijid reaffirms its dedication and commitment to empowering the Indigenous Talaandig Tribe, which will allow them to advocate for their rights, access information, and connect with others through the different technologies available.

This extension project for the Talaandig Tribe in Tagbak, Talakag, Bukidnon, is a testament to the University’s mission of providing inclusive education beyond its borders.
