The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro conducted its first Consultative Forum on the proposed establishment of the USTP College of Medicine last March 19, 2021, via Zoom.
In attendance were USTP officials and invited participants from the Department of Health (DOH), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and representatives from the hospitals in the region.

One of the major highlights of the event was the presentation of House Bill No. 8123 and RA 11509 – Doktor Para sa Bayan Act by the keynote speaker Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Representative Hon. Cong. Rufus B. Rodriguez.
Insights, comments, and suggestions were given by the experts and professionals during the open forum facilitated by Dr. Ma. Elena L. Paulma, Vice President for Academic Affairs of USTP, and Dr. Agaton T. Panopio, Jr, USTP Consultant.
