USTP CDO ECRD holds Year 3 Culmination of Continuing Professional Learning Course for ALS Implementers

The Extension and Community Relations Division (ECRD) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO) together with the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Alternative Learning System (ALS), successfully held the Continuing Professional Learning Course (CPLC) for ALS Implementers Awarding and Culminating Activity – Year 3 at the Dr. Ricardo E. Rotoras (DRER) Memorial Hall, USTP CDO on March 11, 2025. This event aimed to help ALS implementers improve their teaching skills, drive innovation in alternative education, and celebrate and recognize their efforts and dedication to teaching modalities.
Dr. Maria Teresa M. Fajardo, Director of the Extension and Community Relations Division and GAD Focal Person of USTP CDO, opened the event with a warm welcome message, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and community engagement.

Dr. Arturo N. Bayocot, CESO III, Regional Director of DepEd Region X, delivered an inspiring message, highlighting the transformative learning influence of ALS implementers on students’ lives.

The day was filled with enriching discussions focusing on professional development:
- Through her “Fostering Creativity through a Pedagogy of Play,” Ms. Alyana Grace Q. Tapay, a Faculty Member of Science Education, emphasized the importance of creativity in an educational setting.
- In his lecture, “Kickstarting Your Professional Development with Microsoft Learn Educator Center,” Mr. Jason M. Madronero, MEd, Science Education Faculty, introduced innovative teaching tools that can further enhance teaching skills.

As part of the culminating activity, the Top 10 Performers among ALS implementers were honored for their remarkable efforts and achievements. The ceremony recognized their commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
