USTP CDO student innovators advance in XINYX: Unlocked 2024

John Richard Alix, Robert Roy Salvo, and Sophia Marie Maandig, Computer Engineering students from the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO), secured a place as grand finalists in the XINYX: Unlocked 2024 Competition with their project, ParkEase: Paid Parking Reservation System. The awarding ceremony took place in Mandaluyong City, Philippines, on September 19, 2024.

XINYX Unlocked is an annual national innovation competition where participants apply their technical skills to develop solutions that benefit communities. This year’s theme, “From Problems to Possibilities: Building Tomorrow’s Cities Today,” encouraged forward-thinking projects that address urban challenges.

ParkEase: Paid Parking Reservation System is an innovative solution designed to enhance urban mobility and parking convenience by enabling users to reserve parking spaces in three easy steps: select, reserve, and park. The team was mentored by Engr. Mark Lister Nalupa from USTP’s Center of Artificial Intelligence.
