USTP Claveria 4-H Club wins multiple awards in Regional 4-H Youth Fest

The 4-H Club of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) has won multiple awards in the Regional 4-H Youth Fest, held from April 22 to 25, 2024, at CEDAR, Impalutao, Impasug-ong, Bukidnon.
The Fest showcased talents from different representatives in the provinces of Bukidnon and Misamis Oriental and the cities of Iligan and Cagayan de Oro, which are dedicated to agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship.
Logy Dominador, a sophomore Bachelor of Science in Agriculture student, and June Earl Mayoan of 4-H El Salvador won the 4-H Trash Formation Contest. Moreover, Rhea Listahan, a senior Bachelor of Science in Agriculture student, Mark Joseph Leono and Jason Jay Salvo, junior Bachelor of Science in Agriculture students, won the 4-H Coconut-based Cooking Contest. Their outstanding performances have earned them the opportunity to represent Region X in the National 4-H Youth Fest at the Siargao Island, Surigao del Norte, in June 2024.
The team also secured 1st runner up for 4-H Agri-innovation pitching and 4-H Song Contest and 2nd runner up in the 4-H Agri-tale.
The 4-H Club stands for Head, Heart, Hands, and Health and aims to teach the younger generation the importance of agriculture and involve them in food production for food sustainability.
The Regional Youth Fest, a platform for the youth to showcase their talents and potential, is a beacon of hope for the future. It is geared towards developing the youth for leadership, empowering them to spearhead the community towards agricultural innovations, and entrepreneurship, and developing their knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to become competent, caring, and contributing citizens of the country.
