USTP Claveria clinches Championship Title in epic basketball showdown

In a nail-biting finale to the season scheduled on February 7 to March 7, 2024, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamis Oriental (USTP Claveria) basketball team emerged victorious in a thrilling showdown against the reigning champion, securing the coveted championship title in a heart-stopping contest dubbed as the “Clash of Titans” during the Dr. Abdullah Hospital Foundation Inc. 1st Basketball Tournament at Lumbia Gym, Bacolod Chico, Marawi City.

The highly anticipated championship game, held in a packed area, saw USTP Claveria go head-to-head against the defending champions in a display of skills, determination, and sportsmanship.
From the opening tip-off, both teams left nothing to chance, engaging in a fierce battle on the court. Every possession was fiercely contested, with players showcasing their talents and resolve in a relentless pursuit of victory.
The intensity grew as the game progressed, with neither team willing to concede ground. It was a back-to-back and forth affair, with momentum swinging from one side to the other as the clock ticked down.
With the score tied and time running out, a player from USTP Claveria rose to the occasion, sinking a contested jump shot as the final buzzer sounded. This clinched the championship title for their team and sent the crowd into a frenzy of celebration.
Individual performances also shone brightly, with One Caseres and Art Jay Dagoc of USTP Claveria receiving the prestigious “Mythical 5” medal for their outstanding contributions on offense and defense throughout the game.
As fans poured out of the arena, their voices hoarse from cheering, it was clear that they had witnessed a truly unforgettable spectacle of USTP Claveria’s basketball team’s shining moments.
