USTP Claveria collaborates with partner schools for work immersion and OJT readiness

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Claveria, Misamas Oriental (USTP Claveria) successfully conducted a Work Immersion and On-the-Job Training (OJT) Orientation on February 12, 2025, at the Administration Building, USTP Claveria. The event prepared 110 students from partner institutions for their upcoming experiential learning journey.

The participating students were from Christian Samaritan School – Claveria (26 students), Kalingagan National High School (48 students), Malitbog Agricultural High School (30 students), and Gingoog City United Colleges (6 students).

The orientation opened with a warm welcome from Dr. Alexander L. Ido, USTP Claveria Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (VCAA). Ms. Zenelyn S. Labay, CCIRO Coordinator, and Mr. Renan C. Octavio, CA OJT Coordinator, presented key information on work immersion and OJT policies, along with student area assignments.

Mr. Kyle Villano, Scholarship Coordinator, provided an overview of scholarship opportunities, offering students insight into available financial assistance options. Meanwhile, Ms. Aiza Go Icalina, Pollution Control and Safety Officer, led a crucial session on workplace safety, highlighting the importance of occupational safety practices to ensure a secure work environment.

The event concluded with closing remarks from Mr. Melchor Allado, Executive Assistant of Dr. Argin A. Gulanes, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services (VCSAS). He encouraged students to approach their work immersion with enthusiasm and dedication as they embark on this important learning experience.

The orientation served as a vital preparation for students from partner schools, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and confidence for their respective work immersion and OJT programs.
