As a way of honoring instructors and employees who continue to inspire students with their knowledge, skills and commitment, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Claveria marked the Year-End Fellowship last December 23, 2021 with a Tribute to Retirees held at the USTP Claveria Function Hall.
With the theme It’s Living Life to the Fullest, the celebration started with an opening remarks from Mr. Clint Django G. Pacana, OIC Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance.
Speaking on behalf of the USTP Claveria Community, Mr. Pacana expressed his never-ending gratitude to the instructors and employees who became sources of wisdom and knowledge with the years spent in the institution.
Dr. Renato O. Arazo, Chancellor of USTP Claveria, also paid tribute to the retirees. Dr. Arazo said teachers are tasked to shape humanity and enumerated the contributions of all the retirees as well as their achievements.
“A man is formed and honed by his teacher. The best gift to be given among teachers is for them to be good and to attend their classes all the time,” Dr. Arazo added.
The event also showcased a presentation of the faculty and staff from the different colleges as tribute to the teachers and employees.
In honor of their years of service to the University, the institution awarded them with plaques of appreciation and recognition. The retirees included the following:
- Chona M. Pestillos
- Reynaldo M. Pines
- Leonida De Asis
- Serena Jumuad
- Anasenia Soriso
- Agido Baylon
