The Tourism Committee of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Claveria, Misamis Oriental joined the Intra-Regional Tour Circuit Development of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region 10 on December 8 – 10, 2021 in Bukidnon. The USTP participants was headed by the committee chairperson, Dr. Maribel S. Tizo, and accompanied by the chancellor of USTP Claveria, Dr. Renato O. Arazo,
Mr. Rico Libre, DOT 10 Operation Officer, initiated the event to allow benchmarking on the progressive tourism sites in Bukidnon. The 3-day Circuit Tour traversed tourist spots from Talakag to Lantapan to Kitaotao, Bukidnon. The sites visited included P. Bernales Farm in Talakag; Binahon Agroforestry Farm (BAFF) in Lantapan; the exhibit area of Salima Silagon Saway-Agraan, a famous soil painter and a proud member of Talaandig tribe; the Mt. Kitanglad Range Natural Park (Cinchona); the Central Mindanao University (CMU) Fernery in Musuan; Taglucop Strawberry Hills in Lorega; JMCC Peak in Sinuda; and Lake Pinamaloy in Don Carlos.
The other USTP Claveria participants were Hazel Salaum, Sheree Ann Mopos, Remy John S. Tizo, Dyna F. Gorre and Arnel Travero who are now ready to apply their learnings to make USTP Claveria a famous and booming agri-ecotourism site in the future.
