USTP conducts 2-day Extension Project for CDO Youth

Last May 18-19, 2022, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Cagayan de Oro (CDO) held a 2-day face-to-face extension project titled “Capability Training Workshop on Design Thinking and Project Proposal Writing for Youth Community Engagement” at the Makerspace Room located at the 4th Floor of the Learning Resource Center (LRC) of the USTP CDO campus.

Dr. Maria Angeles Dano-Hinosolango, the USTP CDO Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services (VCSAS), served as one of the resource speakers in the said activity. Engr. Lloyd Jhon B. Estampa, CDIO Master Trainer and trained Learning Express facilitator, was also invited to talk about Design Thinking as an approach to identifying, understanding, and providing solutions for problems in the community.
The event was attended by youth leaders and out-of-school youths from Cagayan de Oro City’s several barangays. It aimed to make future leaders more aware of developing actual project proposals and molding them to be problem solvers in the communities they serve.
USAID, EDC, Kaya Na, and Out of School Youth Development Alliance (OSYDA) for which USTP is an active member, partnered with the extension project as well.
