To further strengthen the celebration of National Women’s Month, the Social Services Unit (SSU) of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Cagayan de Oro (USTP CDO), in collaboration with the Extension and Community Relations Division (ECRD), organized a poster-making contest with the theme, Women in 2025: “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas” on March 25, 2025, at the Student Shed 3, College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) Building, USTP CDO.

This competition is one of five key events organized by the Gender and Society (GnS) course to celebrate National Women’s Month, beginning on March 6, 2025. The celebration includes a film viewing and a three-day series of events from March 24 to March 26, 2025. The events feature a women’s merchant booth fair, a women’s month symposium, a poster-making contest, and success stories from women merchants. These activities align with the national agenda on gender equality and women’s empowerment, contributing to a broader aim of acknowledging women’s rights, strengths, and opportunities across all sectors.
The Poster Making Contest highlighted the students’ artistic abilities and creativity, adhering to the specified theme while meeting the judging criteria: 40% relevance to the theme, 30% originality, 20% for creativity and presentation, and 10% for overall impact, totaling 100%. Among the judges for the contest are Ms. Ma. Cynthia Fe Siwagan, Mr. Jerel G. Eduave, and Mr. Jose Vincent Cuevas, all from the Social Sciences Unit.
