The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Jasaan, Misamis Oriental (USTP Jasaan) in collaboration with the Department of Environmental Science – USTP CDO, participated in a tree planting and growing activity on March 1, 2025, at the Closed Dumpsite, Sitio Beverly, Barangay Natubo, Jasaan.

Faculty members, students, and environmental advocates gathered to plant seedlings that will contribute to reforestation efforts, improve biodiversity, and enhance ecological balance in the area.

As the newly planted trees take root, USTP Jasaan remains committed to promoting environmental awareness and implementing programs that contribute to long-term ecological preservation. By actively promoting a sustainable environment, the university strengthens its role as a key advocate for environmental resilience and climate action.

Trees play a crucial role in mitigating climate change, preventing soil erosion, and restoring degraded land, making this effort an essential step toward a greener and more sustainable future. The tree planting initiative also served as an educational opportunity for students, reinforcing the significance of environmental stewardship and sustainability.

This initiative underscores USTP’s commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement.
