USTP Oroquieta conducts Lesson Planning Seminar and Workshop for BTLED students

The Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) fourth-year students of the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) attended an educational training on Lesson Planning Seminar and Workshop on January 23, 2025. The seminar was designed to equip pre-service teachers with essential skills and knowledge for their internship in practice teaching.
During his welcome remarks, Mr. Bernardo T. Crisologo, MTTE, emphasized the importance of lesson planning in teaching.
Ms. Maila C. Asim presented the “Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs) of the Department of Education”
The seminar featured three key sessions. Ms. Maila C. Asim presented the Most Essential Learning Competencies (MELCs), highlighting their significance in aligning lessons with the Department of Education’s standards. Mrs. Jelyn B. Ursaiz conducted a session on How to Make a TMDI Lesson Plan, providing practical tips for creating clear and concise lesson plans using the Transactional Model of Direct Instruction (TMDI).

Mrs. Jay Ann M. Abarquez focused on “How to Make a Detailed Lesson Plan”
Participants then engaged in hands-on practice to develop their own TMDI-based lesson plans. The final session, led by Mrs. Jay Ann M. Abarquez, focused on How to Make a Detailed Lesson Plan, offering insights into crafting comprehensive and well-structured lesson plans to enhance classroom instruction.
Participant Ms. Charlian T. Tumpag thanked the speakers, organizers, and participants for their active involvement, emphasizing the day’s learning experiences.
This seminar and workshop were crucial in preparing BTLED students for their practice teaching journey, providing them with vital knowledge and skills aligned with USTP’s goal of offering quality education that meets industry demands.
