USTP Oroquieta earns COPC for BTLED program

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Oroquieta, Misamis Occidental (USTP Oroquieta) achieved a significant milestone by earning a Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) from the Commission on Higher Education – Region 10 (CHED Region X) on January 15-16, 2025. This recognition highlights the department’s commitment to excellence in its Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education (BTLED) programs, offering majors in Home Economics, Industrial Arts, and Information Communication Technology.

The COPC was granted after a rigorous evaluation by CHED-X, led by Education Supervisor II Ms. Rose Mae Lumasag, and CHED Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) Technical Committee Dr. Roque B. Roquino. The assessment reviewed curriculum, facilities, library holdings, and student affairs, reflecting the department’s strict compliance with CHED standards and alignment with educational reforms.

USTP Oroquieta Acting Director Dr. Glorimer L. Clarin thanked CHED-X for their guidance and emphasized USTP Oroquieta’s dedication to quality education. He also assured the faculty’s commitment to fostering a conducive learning environment. Academic Head Prof. Ma. Liberty B. Doncillo and Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) Department Chairperson Prof. Bernardo T. Crisologo were also present during the recognition. 

This achievement underscores USTP Oroquieta’s pursuit of continuous improvement and aligns with the mission and vision of the USTP System.

Dr. Roque B. Roquino of the RQAT Technical Committee presented the results of the ocular inspection, granting USTP Oroquieta the Certificate of Program Compliance.

Ms. Rose Mae Lumasag, CHED-X Education Supervisor II, congratulated the DTLE for the success of meeting the requirements outlined in the CMO No. 78, Series of 2017 – Policies, Standards and Guidelines for Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education.

Prof. Ma. Liberty B. Doncillo, USTP Oroquieta Academic Head, expressed her gratitude on behalf of the Acting Campus Director, Dr. Glorimer L. Clarin, for the efforts and time invested by the evaluators and the working team behind the successful COPC evaluation.
