In line with the observance of Fire Prevention Month, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon), in collaboration with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) – Panaon Station, conducted a Fire Prevention and Safety Activity on March 24, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the USTP Panaon Grounds—the event aimed to raise awareness and promote proactive fire safety practices within the campus community.
The primary objective of the activity was to educate students, faculty, and staff on fire prevention measures, enhance their preparedness in case of fire emergencies, and demonstrate proper firefighting techniques. Through this initiative, the university seeks to strengthen safety protocols and foster a culture of disaster readiness.

The activity began with a fire safety lecture led by BFP personnel, covering essential topics such as fire causes, prevention tips, and emergency response procedures. Participants were educated and equipped with the practical skills of using fire extinguishers and alarms and executing safe evacuation protocols, empowering them to handle fire emergencies effectively.

A fire drill demonstration followed, where attendees actively participated in simulated fire scenarios. BFP officers showcased the correct handling of firefighting equipment and instructed participants on executing safe and orderly evacuation procedures.
The Fire Prevention and Safety Activity at USTP Panaon emphasized the importance of vigilance and preparedness in mitigating fire-related risks. By collaborating with the BFP-Panaon Station, the university reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for its students and staff, making everyone feel valued and secure.
