Practice Teachers of USTP Panaon conducted a Fireside Chat on the Existence of Bullying in the Philippine Educational Landscape held at the Campus Function Hall last March 9, 2023. Ms. Krystal M. Vale-Gonzaga of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office of Panaon and Ms. Jenefer T. Cobrado, a licensed psychometrician and part-time faculty member of USTP Panaon, served as guest speakers and shared their thoughts and insights about existing laws and other relevant topics on bullying.
The resource speakers emphasized RA 10627, or the Anti-Bullying Act of 2013. They also shared tips for future teachers on how to deal with bullying in the classroom. An interactive open forum took place right after the discussions, where practice teachers were allowed to ask questions about bullying.
The said Fireside Chat is one preparation before the deployment of the practice teachers as stipulated in Joint CHED-DepEd Memorandum Order No. 01 s. 2021 or the Policies and Guidelines on the Deployment of Pre-Service Teachers for Field Study and Teaching Internship.
One hundred twenty (120) practice teachers attended the fireside chat organized by the Department of Technology and Livelihood Education (DTLE) in cooperation with the Future Educators’ Guild (FEG).
