USTP Panaon faculty attends International Learning Festival 2024 in Singapore

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) Panaon, Misamis Occidental, sent its Marine Biology faculty member and Extension and Research Coordinator, Ms. Marjho Mae S. Cardoza, to the 2024 International Learning Festival (ILF). The event, hosted by Singapore Polytechnic, took place successfully from September 22 to 26, 2024, in Singapore.
Among the four partners of the 2024 International Learning Festival (ILF) — the International Symposium for Advances in Technology Education (ISATE), Conceive, Design, Implement, and Operate (CDIO), the Learning Express (LeX) Conference, and the Excellence in Education & Training Convention (EETC) — the USTP delegation participated in the Learning Express Conference (LeX).

The delegation also included Dr. Herbert Glenn P. Reyes, Coordinator for External Affairs of the USTP System; Engr. Erich P. Abad, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services of USTP Cagayan de Oro; and Dr. Argin A. Gulanes, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Services of USTP Claveria.
Over 120 participants attended the Learning Express (LeX) Conference, consisting of 84 facilitators and 36 leaders from member institutions in the Philippines, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The highlight of the conference was the celebration of Singapore Polytechnic’s 70th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of the LeX program. Over the years, LeX has expanded its reach, developing a network of higher learning institutions across ASEAN, China, and India. The program is now implemented in 10 countries and partnered with 35 higher education institutions.
The trip underscores USTP’s Vision 2030 roadmap goal of attaining international recognition as a Science & Technology University. USTP’s participation in this event reflects its commitment to establishing global connections and achieving international recognition.
