USTP Panaon leads off 1st Student Research Colloquium

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) in Panaon, Misamis Occidental, conducted the 1st Student Research Colloquium as part of the USTP System’s 7th Charter Day celebration on August 17, 2023, at the USTP Panaon Training Center and Function Hall.
One of the highlights of the activity was the keynote speech delivered by Ms. Marjho Mae S. Cardoza, MSc, Research and Extension Coordinator of the USTP Panaon. She highlighted the importance of knowing the USTP System Research Agenda and the USTP Panaon research niche in developing research concepts. She presented the proposed initiative to align student research to the United United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as part of the USTP System’s efforts to help realize the goals.
The USTP Panaon Batch 2023 Graduates eagerly showcased their prowess in their research papers’ oral and poster presentations in Marine Biology, Information Technology, Home Economics Education, and Industrial Arts. A total of six (6) oral presenters and fifteen (15) poster presenters shared their undergraduate theses.
Attending the colloquium are incoming 3rd- and 4th-year students preparing to embark on their research concepts, proposals, and capstone projects for the upcoming semester.
The Future Educators’ Guild spearheaded the colloquium under the supervision of the Research and Extension Office and the Strategic Communication Office of the campus.
