USTP Panaon takes on challenge in 2024 Provincial Statistics Quiz

The University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines in Panaon, Misamis Occidental (USTP Panaon) actively participated in the 28th Philippine Statistics Quiz (PSQ) Provincial Eliminations, organized by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) on October 22, 2024, at La Elena Fishyalan in Sinacaban, Misamis Occidental.
The Philippine Statistics Quiz is a prestigious annual nationwide competition designed to test first-year students’ statistical knowledge and understanding in colleges and universities across the country’s 17 regions.
Three trailblazers represented USTP Panaon: Melody B. Centino, a BS Information Technology student, and Kate S. Potente and Rogen V. Atad, both BS Marine Biology students.
Under the guidance of Mr. Celso C. Almirol, BS Marine Biology faculty, the students underwent rigorous preparation and training with support from Mr. Marjune T. Bonilla, Ms. Donna B. Sagario and Ms. Nefil Balan. Their statistical knowledge and critical thinking skills were refined and strengthened with the goal of representing Misamis Occidental at regional and national levels.
In a competitive and high-energy elimination round, Ms. Centino’s exceptional performance earned her a place in the Top 5 of the competition.
This achievement underscores USTP’s commitment to fostering excellence in its students, empowering them to participate in higher-level educational training and competitive programs.
