USTP receives Platinum Award during 3rd ITSO Presidents’ Summit

On March 18, 2024, the University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines (USTP) was honored with the prestigious Platinum Award during the 3rd Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) President’s Summit organized by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). The event was held at the Dusit Hotel, Makati City, with the theme “ITSO: Celebrating Collaboration, Cultivating Innovation.”
The summit’s primary objectives for this year were to acknowledge and reward members of the ITSOs who had successfully met the ITSO 2.0 Clustering deliverables for 2023. The event also presented updates on the implementation of the ITSO program, which aims to empower ITSOs to produce more innovative and impactful outcomes from their research and development efforts.
Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II, USTP System President, along with Engr. Gladdy Christie H. Compasan, USTP ITSO Manager, accepted the esteemed award on behalf of the university. The award recognizes the university’s accomplishments in IP awareness, patent searches, patent filings, and successful technology transfers. It signifies the accomplishment of the Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels within the ITSO 2.0 clustering framework.
The award signifies the university’s success in multiple intellectual property initiatives. It serves as a source of inspiration for ongoing innovation and excellence, highlighting the USTP System’s steadfast dedication to innovation and excellence in intellectual property.
