USTP Villanueva holds Academe-Industry-Government Forum

On December 20, 2023, USTP Villanueva hosted an impactful Academe-Industry-Government (AIG) Forum where partners and stakeholders gathered to actively contribute to the progress of the Municipality of Villanueva through cutting-edge research and development initiatives at USTP Villanueva.
The esteemed presence of USTP System President Dr. Ambrosio B. Cultura II added gravity to the event as he delivered a compelling speech highlighting the imperative for collaboration among industries, government entities, and academic institutions. President Cultura emphasized the pivotal role of such partnerships in addressing third-world challenges, exemplified by the focused development of Science and Technology Parks. His call to action aligns seamlessly with the global mandate of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and resonates with the Philippines’ strategic vision for economic growth by pursuing advancements in research, science, and technology.
USTP Villanueva Acting Campus Director, Mr. Colbert G. Rabaya, provided insights into the inception of USTP Villanueva, emphasizing its responsiveness to the specific needs voiced by industries, particularly those within the Municipality of Villanueva. Addressing these requirements, USTP Villanueva has successfully enrolled nine hundred (900) students, each poised to contribute to realizing the Municipality’s vision by becoming skilled professionals and integral members of the local workforce. The university remains committed to fostering the development of these students, ensuring they align seamlessly with the Municipality’s goal of empowering its residents through gainful employment.
Representatives from key institutions such as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), the Department of Information Communication Technology (DICT), the LGU of Villanueva in Misamis Oriental, STEAG State Power Inc., the Mindanao Container Corporation, and the FDC Misamis Power Corporation, among others, shared their proposals and collaborative strategies during the event. The audience comprised faculty and staff from USTP Villanueva. This forum marks the initiation of crucial partnerships with stakeholders who are pivotal in actualizing the vision and mission of USTP Villanueva. It signifies the commencement of collaborative efforts that will contribute significantly to the university’s overarching goals.
